Video Interview changes

  • Added option to record your own video questions through Workable

The home screen in the mobile app has been redesigned for easier navigation and to get you the info you’re looking for faster. Check out the new look on by downloading or updating the Workable app for iOS or Android. Use the app to review resumes, add feedback, send offers and more.

Workable’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 2021 HR Report

We surveyed a wide range of HR and business professionals near the end of 2020 to get a better understanding of where DEI stands in companies, what the priorities are at this point in time, the subsequent action items and goals, and the challenges that hinder DEI progress. Nearly 800 completed the survey.

Introducing candidate surveys

Available for Core, Growth and Premier plans

Create optional and anonymous surveys for candidates to fill in after they apply. With this latest Diversity, Equity and Inclusion-focused feature, assess DEI performance in your hiring strategies and evaluate ways to improve.

Key details about candidate surveys:

  • Surveys are optional and anonymous
  • They appear after a candidate applies
  • They are segmentable by office location or region
  • They are customizable with multiple choice questions

New options for Advanced Referrals

For accounts with an Advanced Referrals portal (video overview), access these options from your referral settings:

  • Notification settings: Adjust the default email notification settings for referral portal users to Daily, Weekly or Never. We only recommend choosing “never” if you are proactively informing coworkers about new jobs another way.
  • Limit portal to internal applications or referrals only: Option to adjust all jobs in the portal be either for internal applications only or referrals only. By default, the portal supports both.
  • Add custom questions for referral submission: Include up to 4 of your own custom questions for coworkers to answer when they submit a referral. Default questions can be removed or customized further.

Updates to Advanced Careers Pages

Advanced Career Page customization is now available to Pro, Enterprise and Advanced Annual accounts, plus we've added extra formatting and branding options.

Access these options through the Advanced Careers Page builder under Settings > Careers Page:

  • Customize the "favicon": Change the icon you see in the browser tab to the left of the page title by clicking Site Settings in the page builder

  • Rich text formatting: Now available for all section types, highlight any text to format it

  • Background image placement: Adjust the position of the header's background image by clicking the Edit button on the Header section

  • Logo size configuration: Scale your logo by clicking the Edit button on the Header section

Q4 2020 updates



Anonymized resume screening: Automatically have personally identifying information for candidates in the Sourced/Applied stages redacted to reduce unconscious bias.

Workable native Assessments beta: For participating accounts, send cognitive and personality assessments natively through Workable.


Workable Video Interviews: Added ability to include welcome video and video questions for candidates.

Advanced Referrals:

  • Increased visibility of "Apply" button for internal applicants to make it easier to find
  • Implemented automatic email notifications for candidates who know they are being referred. If the referrer states that the candidate is aware of the referral, the candidate receives a message with the job title, company name and location.



For Advanced Careers Page, added rich text formatting options (bold/italics/underline/links) for Paragraph and Image with Text sections. Highlight text to reveal formatting options.


New Features

CCPA - For Advanced Annual accounts, activate California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) features under Compliance settings. This enables the inclusion of links to your privacy notice on candidate-facing pages and communication.

AI-created interview questions for video interviews - When creating a Workable video interview an option will appear for AI-selected interview questions. The questions will be automatically chosen and arranged by the AI. You can always edit them as needed (and build questions from scratch too).


Added Workable video interview preview option. When creating or editing a video interview, click the Preview button to see the candidate's experience for the interview you've set up.
